Addiction Treatment in Pregnant and Postpartum People

This two hour continuing education program will focus on treating persons with a substance use disorder during pregnancy and postpartum. We will discuss the neurobiology of addiction as it relates to the chronicity of substance use disorders. We will focus on the strengths of building strong community as a prevention and treatment strategy, specifically in rural populations. Finally, we will discuss treatment of various substances of misuse during pregnancy and postpartum using evidence-based practices.
