The Michigan Opioid Collaborative
We are so excited to share that the Michigan Opioid Collaborative (MOC) and Opioid Prescribing Engagement Network (OPEN) are now one unified organization. We believe that by joining our efforts, we will be able to have a greater impact on improving lives and reducing the harms of Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) in Michigan and beyond.
Moving forward, we will use a new acronym that defines our shared work and purpose: Overdose Prevention Engagement Network (OPEN). We also have a new tagline – Prevention. Treatment. Recovery – which reflects our organization’s combined capabilities.
Together, we thoughtfully discussed and workshopped to develop an inclusive mission statement, which we believe sets a solid foundation for our future work: OPEN is a diverse team dedicated to improving lives and reducing harms of substance use. By engaging with individuals, communities, and organizations, we share education and resources to strengthen person-centered prevention, treatment, and recovery.
We look forward to having you join us through our programming and education, take a look at our upcoming offerings on the new website we will eventually migrate to: https://michigan-open.org. We are still offering CE opportunities but moving forward all events will be posted here: https://michigan-open.org/events/.
